Just in time to celebrate the country’s birthday, in addition to our monthly report, we are now issuing a quarterly real estate market report for the Greater Boston Area. If you want to sound smart while standing around the grill in this summer heat, check this out before you crack your first cold one.

Median prices in the second quarter ranged from $225,000 in Lynn (01901) to $1,880,000 in Boston (02108). That means that if you drive just under 11 miles, you’ll pay over 8 times as much for your home.

If you’re a slow shopper, hopefully you want to live in a place like Nahant (01908), where the median home was on the market for 42 days. If you can’t pull the trigger fast, don’t even think about Arlington (02476), where homes were on the market for just 7 days.
